Where the Road Ends: A Guide to Trail RunningI’m happy to announce that while today’s Friday, it won’t be the final day of our Where the Road Ends: A Guide to Trail Running Launch Week contests! Today, we’re again offering two prize packages (one for each gender) with great products from New Balance, Nathan, Stance, UnTapped, and BUFF.

Remember that all these contests support the launch of iRunFar editors Meghan Hicks and Bryon Powell’s new book Where the Road Ends: A Guide to Trail Running, which is now available for purchase on the cheap, with autographs, and on ereaders. Also, consider spreading the word about the book however you feel comfortable!

The Contest

New Balance logoTraditional running brands are making some great shoes and apparel to hit the trails in and New Balance is at the forefront of these. They’ve just released the Vazee Summit, a lightweight, aggressively lugged shoes that’d be more than capable in mud or on the mountains. The NB Leadville v3 is more of an all-around shoe with a bit more substance. The winner will get the choice of the Vazee Summit or the Leadville v3.

One nice thing about trail running is that most running apparel is up to the task and that’s certainly true of running shorts. I (Bryon) wear my preferred style of NB running shorts on nearly every run. Both winners will get to pick a pair of New Balance running shorts in his or her preferred style. They’ll also get a Short Sleeve Heather Tee and a Lite Packable Jacket for a little extra warmth and protection on cool or inclement runs.

Nathan Sports standard logoNathan has been a leader in runner-specific hydration solutions for many years. The Nathan VaporAir (for men) and VaporAiress (for men) are hydration packs that should fit a wide range of needs. For hydration in your hand, you can go with the Nathan QuickDraw Plus, which features a small pocket on a handheld waterbottle. Nathan also offers a slew of products outside of hydration, including an expanding range of lighting solutions of which the Nathan Halo Firea super bright, highly adjustable, rechargeable, smart headlamp–is at the pinnacle. Both winners will get a QuickDraw Plus and Halo Fire headlamp as well as the gender-appropriate pack of the VaporAiress and VaporAir.

Stance logoStance has brought fashion and style to the sock world, recently including the running sock world. If you’re looking to sport a little style on your next trail run, consider Stance’s Fusion Run line of socks. Both winners will get to choose three pairs of Fusion Run socks of their liking.

UnTapped Energy logoUndoubtedly, my favorite running fuel innovation of the past few years has been UnTapped maple syrup packets. What are they? Exactly what the name suggests: pure maple syrup (and nothing else) in energy gel packets. I can’t get enough of them. The two winners of this contest will each get a box of UnTapped gels.

To top things off, literally, in this contest, we’re throwing in an Original BUFF, the original multi-purpose headwear for each of the winners.
