Female ultramarathon performance 5

The female menstrual cycle lasts 21 to 35 days, and is generally presented as seen here, in an idealized 28-day cycle with a rise and fall of estrogen during the follicular phase and the rise of progesterone during the luteal phase. Follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) is responsible for the growth of the egg in the ovary and luteinizing hormone (LH) is responsible for the release of the egg from the ovary.
