ONE DAY ONLY: Help us accomplish our reach goal on Patreon and get two iRunFar limited-edition pins!

[Oct 26 Update: Wow… you are so awesome. We blew past our goal and 230+ folks will be getting a pair of limited-edition iRunFar pins! I’ve now placed an order with the pin company. If all goes smoothly, we should receive the pins this time next month. – Bryon]

Wow! We’ve received a tremendously strong response to our limited-edition iRunFar pins offer. A full 33 of you have become $10 (or more) patrons who support iRunFar on Patreon these past two weeks. Woohoo! Along with all of our previous patrons at this level, we’ve currently got over 200 folks who we’ll be sending an iRunFar pin to in the coming months. But that’s not all.

Sometime yesterday, an idea popped into my head that I just can’t shake… no matter how hard I tried, so here goes. I’m extending the availability of our limited-edition iRunFar Trail Crew enamel pin for one day: today, October 25th. Anyone who joins the iRunFar family on Patreon at the $10/month or above as well as existing patrons who move up to that level will receive one two of these pins. [Now for the fun part!If we get 17 additional patrons at or above this level today, all 200-plus eligible patrons will receive two of these pins! Yup, I’ve added a long-shot goal and if we hit it, a bunch of folks get a bonus iRunFar pin!

8:30 p.m. UPDATE: THIS HAS HAPPENED. YOU DID IT! We’ve hit our goal and, now, all 200-plus eligible patrons will receive two of these pins! Sign up before the end of the day to join the double-pin fun. It’s all over in the morning!

iRunFar Two-Pin Offer

Now, this is an all-or-nothing offer–all $10/month patrons get the bonus pin or none do–so we need your help.

  • If you’re not a current patron or are one at less than $10/month, SIGN UP TODAY to help yourself and 200-plus others get two awesome iRunFar pins!
  • If you’re already an iRunFar patron at $10+/month, SPREAD THE WORD about this offer TODAY. You’ll be doing yourself, whoever you might give the extra pin to (if you don’t keep it), and over 200 other patrons a favor by helping us get closer to reaching our bonus-triggering target!

So there you have it. Again, put another way, if we get 17 fans joining at or moving up to support us at $10 (or more) per month today, each of our $10-or-higher patrons–new or existing–will get a pair of limited-edition hard enamel iRunFar Trail Crew pins, rather than one. You can help make it happen!

Ps. I’ll try to keep everyone in the loop on our progress both here and on social media.

And, now, a refresher on the details.

What’s the Pin?

Well, it’s a small lapel-style pin that’d look great on your lapel… but, more realistically, on your hat, pack, jacket, or wherever else you like to stick a cool pin. We’ve gone as high quality as we can, opting for a “hard enamel” style pin, meaning all of the enamel voids are completely filled and, then, hand ground down to an even, gem-like surface.

The image above represents the pin face, which features the iRunFar logo and the word “Trail Crew,” which recognizes iRunFar’s $10 giving tier on Patreon.

What is Patreon?

We’re glad you asked. In general, Patreon is a platform built to help people like you to support creative endeavors like ours with monthly pledges. More personally, we see it as a way for iRunFar’s biggest fans to both support us directly and interact with us more closely. You might already be familiar with Patreon from The Ginger Runner, UltrarunnerPodcastMountain Outpost, or any one of the thousands of creators that use Patreon.

In 2018 alone, Patreon has allowed us to upgrade a computer, speed up iRunFar, add an audio-only interview feed, make our work situation more sustainable, improve our daily emails, and bring even higher quality articles to all of you! Here’s our article launching iRunFar on Patreon and explaining what we hoped it would mean for us. So far, the response from iRunFar’s readers has blown us away!

Joining the iRunFar Family on Patreon

Joining iRunFar on Patreon is easy. Just head over to our Patreon page, click on “Become a Patreon” or a “Join $X Tier,” and pledge away. Since I’m writing to let you know about the new limited-edition iRunFar lapel pin, I’ll put in a plug for joining iRunFar at the $10 per month level or above. As noted, this is the only time we’ll ever offer this hard-enamel lapel pin design and being an iRunFar patron is the only way to get it! Still, we’d love for you to be a part of the iRunFar Family on Patreon at any level!

Already a Member of the iRunFar Family on Patreon?

If you’re already a $10-plus supporter on Patreon, carry on! We’ll be sure to send you one of these awesome pins once they arrive. (Of course, you’re always free to increase your monthly pledge a bit. ;-) ) If you’re currently an iRunFar patron below the $10 tier, now’s a great time to show even more support to iRunFar by moving up to the $10 level and getting this sweet pin!

Spreading the Word

Think someone you know might want to help support iRunFar and get in on this action? Then, let them know about iRunFar on Patreon and share this special offer.

When’s the Pin… Arriving?

We’ll be ordering these pins soon after October 25th. Between the few weeks of production time and our commitments at the end of November, we anticipate sending these out in early December. From then, they’ll quickly arrive around the U.S. It’ll take two to three weeks from shipping to get to most other places around the world, so, hopefully, by year’s end. We’ll try to update this article with timing updates, particularly when we start shipping.
