Take the Stairs!
February 4, 2008 by Bryon Powell · 3 Comments
Even if I’m no longer training for Hardrock, I’ve taken a liking to taking the stairs instead of the elevator at work. This change surely can’t hurt my training for whatever race(s) I chose to run and it’s a better environmental choice – by taking the stairs I save about 300 kilowatts a day. As a person burns about 5 kCal (or calories for you normal folk) per flight, I burn also an extra 40 calories per day if I don’t do anything more than climb the stairs to my office in the morning.

Sorry to hear about Hardrock. How about coming out to GTR in August ?
I just realized that my blog no longer has a link to yours…not sure how that happened. I’d be happy to author the piece you mentioned, shoot me an email with the details of what you’re looking for.
Tony,
Heading out to GTR again would be fun, but at the moment I’m hoping to be in Chamonix, France for Ultra Tour-de-Mont Blanc.
Sweet, Harmer. I’ll shoot you the details soon.
