The 2025 UTMB is here! We can’t believe it, but this is iRunFar’s 15th year covering the race.

This year, the UTMB course is 174 kilometers (108 miles) long and gains almost 10,000 meters (32,500 feet) of elevation as it encircles the Mont Blanc massif from Chamonix, France, through Italy and Switzerland, before finishing back in Chamonix.

The race starts at 5:45 p.m. CEST (9:45 a.m. MDT in the U.S.) on Friday, August 29.

The UTMB course records are held by Katie Schide, who set the current women’s record at 22:09:31 in 2024, and Jim Walmsley, who set the men’s record at 19:37:43 in 2023. Advertisement

We’ll be livecasting the event over on iRunFar’s X feed with text and photo reports from all over the course. We’ll also be live blogging the same material below in this article.
