Meet the Fall/Winter Lineup in the iRunFar Store

Greetings from iRunFar’s snowy headquarters in Park City, Utah. While I rarely highlight iRunFar’s new products and services, I thought the recent winter weather across much of the Western US and our recent addition of a slew of new products to the iRunFar Store made this one appropriate. That said, as a heads up, in the coming weeks I’ll also share an exciting new service from iRunFar as well as a much asked for new product. For now, I share with you a few items to make your chilly runs more comfortable. Please know that your purchases are invaluable in supporting the content you see here on iRunFar!
To kick things off, I’m excited to share that we’re carrying Salomon’s new Exo S-Lab Tight M ($170) pictured to the right. You can think of these tights as Salomon’s S-Lab shorts that you’ve seen on Kilian Jornet and his teammates wearing (don’t worry, these are black, not white) with built in Exo Calves. If you’re a fan of compression apparel in the summer, the S-Lab tights offers you one-piece, full-length lower body compression.
Next up are the Salomon Trail IV Tights ($85), which we carry in both men’s and women’s. When I moved to Park City last November, I quickly built a collection of running tights and pants. I rotated my way through that selection… until I received a pair of Salomon Trail Tights. I wore these tights almost exclusively the rest of the winter. In contrast to the S-Lab Tights, the only thing exceptional about these tights are their extreme comfort. That’s more than enough reason for me to wear them as I head out on the snowy trail run today.
For this winter, Salomon’s also introduced a lighter-weight tight, Exo XR Tight M ($85). (We’re carrying it for men at the moment.) The key feature of the XR Tight is the hexagonal mesh woven strategically into the fabric so that the tights convey some of beneficial properties of the TPU-overlay-style Exo apparel like the S-Lab Shorts and Exo Calves. The XR tights are a bit different in that they are entirely knit and entirely lacking Lycra. Although I suspect that the different look of these tights will have many men wearing them as a baselayer, they’re got reflective elements on the front and back so they’re 100% suitable for use as outerwear.
Finally, the most technologically advanced long sleeve running shirt I’ve ever seen – the Salomon XR 1/2 Zip LS Tech Tee ($75), which we carry for both men and women. As with the XR Tights, the XR fabric provides muscle support in just the right places. That said, don’t let the overly complicated name or the fact that it’s techy scare you. At its roots, its a great long sleeve, half-zip shirt with a little something extra. For the ladies, that extra something includes an eye catching style in bay blue. (We’ve got simple black and eye-catching yellow versions for the guys.)
That’s all. Enjoy your winter responsibly.
