Wow, another Wasatch 100 in the books. Hearty congratulations to my two favorite runners in the race, The Mikes. Mike Wedemeyer, who I paced, ran an awesome 22:39 to earn 4th place. Good friend and Montrail-Nathan teammate, Mike Mason, rocked the course well enough to finish 5th and earn his induction to the Royal Order of the Crimson Cheetah, as only its fourth East Coast member. (See also Dennis Herr, Scotty Mills, and Sean Andrish).

Although I don’t yet know her story, a Crimson Heart award goes out to Kelly Ridgway, who gutted out what must have been an awfully tough Wasatch race to finish in 35+ hours.

Congrats also go out to my sister, Mountain Girl, who finished the VHTRC’s Women’s Half Marathon on all of 5 training runs. We talked and think she could run 50 miles on about 15 more training runs. She’ll easily finish the Tahoe Rim Trail 100 next July! (Gretch?!) Hey sis, want to post a race report on this blog?
