Cam Smith finished the 2026 Broken Arrow Skyrace Ascent — which was the U.S. Mountain Running Championships Uphill race — in second place and first American, giving him the national title. In the following interview, Cam talks about how his life has changed since becoming an Olympian in ski mountaineering alongside teammate Anna Gibson, how his racing doesn’t change depending on the stage, how his mind-body connection very simply worked during the Ascent, and how he’s approaching the Broken Arrow 23k on Sunday.
