Olympian Anna Gibson returned to Olympic Valley, California, to win the 2026 Broken Arrow Skyrace Ascent for the third time, making her the 2026 U.S. Mountain Running Uphill champion. In the following interview, Anna talks about her off-season after competing in ski mountaineering at the Olympics, managing pressure and expectations as she returns to racing, how her race with Joyce Njeru unfolded, and how she’s not feeling any pressure going into the 23k race on Sunday.

Meghan Hicks is the Editor-in-Chief of iRunFar. She’s been running since she was 13 years old, and writing and editing about the sport for more than 15 years.
