I like the out and about interview more
You’ll definitely get that after the race. :-)
No more live comments?
No. The cost of the platform for unreasonably high, and it was hard to staff.
Really enjoyed watching the pre race interviews and the prognostication (especially with AJW a beer or so in!). Dylan is not only an excellent runner but is one centered interviewer. He asked great questions and kept it all flowing well and on track. Nice work to him and I Run Far! Thank you for all you do.
I just started running a year ago and I am addicted!! I have not done any ultra’s but I’m training for the JFK 50. Good luck to all the WSER runners (and crew, supporters, and volunteers). Thank you iRunFar crew for livetweeting the event. Maybe someday it will be broadcast.
Dylan is great. Hope to see more of him on IRUNFAR. Relatable. Thoughtful. Egoless.
Damn, man. I didn’t want to solitify my resultls for the contest until this evening. Damn! I thought I might be able to win this time. Damn.
I saw Francois take a hit before States a couple years back (I was there) and like… this thing of not letting people vote until game time is well.. B.S.

Is it too early to crack open a beer?
You’ve got to answer that for yourself.
Really miss the interactive coverage of the big races that was provided by irunfar.
Anyone else?
People, Don´t forget to donate so Irunfar can do this type of live coverage.
You are doimg great work irunfar…love it
Kudos to you folks. I’ve been following all day while doing some work on my computer. Chapeau to all.
Beer is cracked… waiting to see our hometown boy get that record, finally! Cheers to all the hardcore runners (and crew) who will be out there for a lot more time. Ya’ll rock!
Jim has giving back 12 minutes over the past two check ins…dig down deep and crush, man! You got this (obviously he can’t read this because he’s running)
Good to see Lucy doing so well. I picked her for second (bit of Australian pride) after Courtney but clearly a lot of people either underestimated Lucy or more likely simply haven’t heard of her. That said, there’s still a way to go in the race for those two. Now to go and watch Jim come first…
A lot of people don’t have FB these days and couldn’t watch the live feed of history being made. Way to go Jim!!!
Also, thank you for the live coverage and hard work!
WTF… Streaming moved to Facebook 10 min. Before finish. Couldn’t watch finish! What’s up with that????!!!
Because more than a half hour of adjustments didn’t allow the broadcast to stream due to bandwidth constraints that were not an issue in the past. We made a live stream of Jim’s finish happen, even if it took a platform switch.
J. Smith,
If you were unhappy with the coverage, perhaps you should volunteer your time and help next year. It’s free and the IRF team busts ass to provide us with updates. You aren’t entitled to anything here, so take it easy…
Love,
Common Courtesy
Think of all that money you wastedJ.Smith!
I’m not OCD or anything, but… the camera is tilted a bit and it is driving me crazy :-).
At this point it’s an iPhone bound to a tripod with a pair of hair elastics. We’re doing our best to keep it level. ;-)
C’mon ppl, irunfar move mountains to bring the best coverage of the sport to our living room. The coverage on twitter has been amazing. Stop bleating and support Bryon and the team on Patreon xx
Hi iRunFar community members,
It’s 2am on Sunday morning. I’m sitting down to write our results article after having been up covering the race since 3am yesterday morning. So, I’m going to be brief. Nothing about our race coverage of remote trail ultramarathons is EVER guaranteed. The vast majority of this race’s course passes through remote areas with no outside means of contact save for satellite. The towns and villages through which the race passes often have one cell tower that is crippled by race crews and fans. I can’t emphasize enough how much work went into producing what you saw today by a team of nearly 20 people working ridiculous hours in difficult conditions. Not everything worked, almost everything did. I am proud of what each and every member of our team did to tell the race’s story. I hope you enjoyed the fruits of our team’s labor. Thank you.
Congratulations. It was awesome. Nice work
And I personally want to thank each and everyone of you. Awesome coverage!
My family and I most certainly enjoyed the fruits of your team’s labor! We were riveted to the coverage yesterday, next best thing to being there. Thank you all SO MUCH!!!!
It’s a fantastic coverage, hard to believe anyone could be disappointed by it.
Well done IRF crew, outstanding effort.
iRunFar does an excellent job of the race coverage in hard conditions. Everyone should be greatful they even exist. The sport would take a huge hit without them.
I noticed in the pre-race interviews at the coffee shop everyone was speaking into microphones. Does that mean you’re going to release podcasts/audio of the interviews?? The background noise on the video made it difficult to hear :(. I appreciate your amazing coverage in a shoestring budget!! I’m just asking because I thought the interviews were great, and would like to listen to more of them.
There are podcasts of those interviews already available. I listened to them while running yesterday! Just search for irunfar on your favorite podcast platform. I found it on Overcast. Enjoy!
Found them, thanks!!
Can you go live for David Lee? – he’s finishing any minute. A bunch of us at our church retreat would love to see it. Thanks!
Sorry. We can’t. We’re working on other aspects of our coverage at this time. The race should have an official live stream.
Hi Bryon,
do you have Florian Neuschwanders finish on the video stream ?
Thanks for live coverage . It is amazing to follow.
best regards from Germany
Volker
I believe we might still rolling when Flo crossed the line. It’d be at the very end of this : https://www.facebook.com/iRunFar/videos/10156416871597114/ . Sorry if it’s not!
Fantastic job Meghan, Bryon and crew. Everyone consider throwing a few bucks their way or joining Patreon. Even a buck a month helps from all of us who have benefited from the excellent coverage this weekend.
