Warren Pole

is a London-based journalist who fell into the world of ultras after a friend signed him up for the 2009 Marathon des Sables despite his not being able to run for a bus at the time. Finishing the MDS and being in the best shape he’d ever experienced was a life-changing moment and he hasn’t stopped running since. He is currently training his socks off for the 2012 UTMB after which he may lie on the sofa and eat cake for a while before deciding what the next challenge is.
