Andy Jones-Wilkins Pre-2010 Western States 100 Interview

June 24, 2010 by Bryon Powell · 4 Comments

I caught up with unofficial Western States 100 historian Andy Jones-Wilkins in Squaw Valley before the 2010 Western States 100. Andy will be making a go at his seventh Western States finish and sixth straight men’s top 10 finish. I’ll be pacing Andy in his go at it on Saturday. Anyway, Andy talks about his picks for the men’s, women’s, men’s masters, and women’s masters titles. He all shares his tips for being mentally and physically prepared to run the Western States 100… listen, because few know it better than him!

Is it just me or has Andy single-handedly created 50% or more of the hoopla surrounding Western States in the last couple of years? Gotta hand it to the guy. He’s a great competitor who is always willing to throw a piece of advice to the newbies.
