Hey Bryon –
Looking forward to the live coverage! Any chance you'll get an interview with Scott Jurek?
Scott G,
I interviewed Jurek yesterday. It'd be up at the moment but for multiple failed uploads. Hopefully, the current upload will be done and the interview posted … in about three hours.
That's fantastic, can't wait to watch it. Thanks Bryon.
It will be very interesting to see how confident Jurek is of his chances on Saturday. Given his lack of recent races, only he knows how competitive he can be.
According to this interview on Colorado Public Radio this morning, Scott hopes to run under 16hrs!

LOOKING FOR ON-THE-GROUND UP-TO-DATE INFORMATION ON HOW THE FIRES AROUND PARK CITY, UTAH ARE AFFECTING RUNNING ON THE LOCAL TRAILS AND HIKING ON THE TRAILS OF THE HIGH MOUNTAINS UP TO 1 HOUR FROM PARK CITY.
I live in Berkeley, CA, and I will be spending 18Aug-26Aug running and hiking in the Park City, Utah area, with Park City as base, and I have a quick question – the news is full of stuff about fires in/around PC. I am sure that what I can see online is out of date/possibly not accurate. Would you be able to let me know whether the fires are affecting running on the trails in/around PC, or affecting hiking on the high mountain trails up to 1 hour away from PC?
Any information will be gratefully received.
Best regards
Sara
The current Rockport fire is to the East of Park City and may affect only one very infrequently used trail. Hundreds of miles of great running trails no where near the fire. I know the Park City Marathon and Half is on for this weekend. The Marathon actually goes closer to the fire area. So unless there is a lot of smoke all should be clear for great running. Latest trail info on mountaintrails.org and their Facebook page.
The fires are not near most all of the trails. Yesterday was a bit smoky at dusk but otherwise the air has been clear too.
When I clicked on the entrants list link above, this came up:

Thanks for the heads up. I've updated the link… not sure why it broke after posting, but, perhaps, they uploaded a new version of the entrants list.
Nice coverage Bryon as usual. Your hard work is greatly appreciated!
Bryon, the latest entrants list (with bib numbers) can be found here:

Great coverage guys! I've just done my run, now I'm watching these results file in as well as the Waldo 100k. Does life get any better? Maybe, if I wasn't too late signing up for Waldo, hahaha!
Was out on the Mid-Mountain Trail this morning. Not the least bit smokey and I bet the rain this afternoon is helping!
Love the Leadville 100 and the coverage, it's all good!
Hey Byron= Quick question how do I score some sweet bumper stickers for irunfar. I contributed a couple times last year plus got a sweet irunfar hat. Just curious thanks.
Just send us your mailing address. We send out stickers gratis. :-)
Yes they do, it's awesome! Thanks again :)
Bryon,
