This weekend, we’ll be covering the 2014 Vibram Tarawera Ultramarathon from Rotorua on New Zealand’s North Island. Our coverage begins on Saturday, March 15 at 6:30 a.m. New Zealand Daylight Time (which translates to Friday, March 14 at 11:30 a.m. Mountain Daylight Time).
We’ll be livecasting the event on iRunFar’s Twitter feed. We’ll also be combining our Twitter feed with other possible news sources in the CoverItLive window below.
Update: Due to the remnants of tropical cyclone Lusi, the featured 100k event has been shortened to 69k. The course consists of an approximately 12-kilometer loop around the redwoods which returns to the start before following the course out to the Okatina Lodge Aid Station. The course then makes a short out-and-back from the lodge totaling 4k worth of trail before heading backward on the course to Lake Okareka, this year’s finish line.
