Run and Eat

June 10, 2012 by EJ Murphy · 7 Comments

The following is a tribute to the reason of Scott Jurek’s new book, Eat and Run: My Unlikely Journey to Ultramarathon Greatness. If you’ve read the book, what did you think? If you’ve not read the book, are you planning on it? Got any great Scott Jurek stories of your own to share?

I think it is going to appeal to a broad audience and I wish him all of the best. Too bad his book tour doesn’t have any plans to come to our neck of the woods…eh?:-)

Met Scott last week for a signing in Boston. Loving the book so far. Such a great ambassador for the sport.

Met Scott in Portland last night. What a great guy! Totally lived up to his reputation as a genuine person. We did a 3 mile run and I got to pick his brain on WS100..

    GO NICK!

Finished the book in only a handful of days. It was a nice look into what someone at the top of the game has experienced. the recipes throughout are a nice bonus, and an important component given his insistence that his nutrition strategies are part of his success. while i am not a vegan i have tried a few and they were great. hope other folks enjoy the read… now to read RFP as I prep up for fall.

Can’t wait to get my copy (not until July in the UK unfortunately). I may even go nuts (so to speak) and try out some of the recipes.
