La Sportiva Mountain Cup Grand Prize

August 31, 2009 by Bryon Powell · 4 Comments

La Sportiva Mountain CupLess than three months ago, the 2009 La Sportiva Mountain Cup kicked off while anticipation of summer trail running adventures hung in the aid. Now, as the aspens begin to yellow high up in the Colorado Rockies, another change of season is upon us. The Mountain Cup has wrapped up and so has iRunFar.com’s coverage of it. We hope you enjoyed following each race and the hard fought competition the series brought. Congratulations again to the series winners: Megan Kimmel (open women), Matt Byrne (open men), Lisa Goldsmith (masters women), and Bernie Boettcher (masters men). Thanks to La Sportiva, GORE-TEX®, and Fleet Feet Sports Boulder for making the series happen! Ok, now on to the big iRunFar winners!

First, before we get to the GRAND PRIZE, we’ve got a bit of housekeeping. Housekeeping of the best sort – we’ve got to give away a pair of La Sportiva Crosslites (women’s – men’s) from last week’s Shop to the Top race report. To keep this brief: Cindy Chiperzak of Canmore in Canada land claim your Crosslites!

GRAND PRIZE TIME!

La Sportiva trail shoesWe’re so thankful that La Sportiva came through with the following prize pack for the Grand Prize in the iRunFar.com La Sportiva Mountain Cup Giveaway:

  • 1 pair of La Sportiva Wildcats
  • 1 pair of La Sportiva Crosslites (iRF Crosslite review)
  • 1 pair of La Sportiva Fireblades (iRF Fireblade review)
  • A free entry into any one 2010 La Sportiva Mountain Cup event
  • A La Sportiva schwag pack likely to include a technical t-shirt, a visor, and whatever else the good folks at La Sportiva feel like throwing in

Just one more thing before we announce the grand prize winner. The La Sportiva Mountain Cup was the first set of short races and the first race series that we’ve covered in full. We’d really appreciate knowing what you liked and what you didn’t about our race and series coverage, as well as how we ran our contests. The more specific the better. Thanks!

I guess all that leaves for us to do for the 2009 La Sportiva Mountain Cup is to name Holly M of San Ramon, California the grand prize winner. Congratulations, Holly! We hope you enjoy the La Sportiva shoes and wear them proudly at a 2010 La Sportiva Mountain Cup event.

    Congrats to Holly!

The thing that I enjoyed most about irunfar's coverage of the the La Sportiva Mountain Cup race series was having the trailrunning spotlight shine on the shorter distances.

Sometimes in the ultra world we forget about races shorter than a marathon. It's like forgetting your roots we all started running by doing shorter races.

Even though the series never made it to Washington, it made me want to seek out my local short distance trail races.

And the name recognition to La Sportiva was great as I'm now running in two of their trail running shoes and they are quickly becoming my favorite.

    Holly and Will,
These are two of the best comments ever!

    Holly,
Congrats on your win. Enjoy the shoes on the trails… once you dry your eyes. ;-)

    Will,
Thanks for lettingme know what you liked about the Cup and iRunFar's coverage of it. I hope the opportunity to cover some more short races comes up for next year.
