While I still need to fill you in on 2008 GORE-TEX TransRockies Run Stages 5 and 6 as well as add photos to my reports on Stages 3 and 4, I figured I’d share some photos I took while I paced at the Leadville 100 on August 16. Check out my 2008 Leadville 100 Picasa album for my favorite pictures.

Near the top of the long climb up to Hope Pass

In TRR-related news, I went for a flat, 5 mile road run yesterday. I was slow and my lower legs were quite sore, but I loved it nonetheless. For one thing, there was plenty of air to breathe. I was also able to run the entire thing – I’ll enjoy running on flat ground for at least another couple days before I realize that I’d much rather be running in the mountains. Oh yeah, and I love running!

With trail runner summer camp barely over, I’m already thinking of future events. For starters, I’ve decided that I’ll run the 100 mile option at the Iroquois Trails Ultras on September 20-21 rather than the 50 mile option I’d been leaning towards for a couple months. Look for a preview of the Iroquois Trails Ultras in the next week here at iRunFar. As for next year, I’ll almost certainly be running another stage race. I’d love to be at TransRockies run again in 2009, but I’ll also be considering the TransAlpine Run in Europe, as well as the blast and they seem to align well with my strengths.
