Great interview, exceptional talent. Mike makes all the headlines, but this is the first interview I’ve seen with him. Many thanks for putting it out there. While Mike hasn’t had the Kyle Skaggs-typed performance at Hardrock (who knows what he would have done at WS), his multiple wins at big races would sure seem to have him in the mix for ultrarunner of the year. Wardian really seems like one of the “good guys” of ultra-running. It is very encouraging to see someone like him doing such amazing things, yet he still works a normal job and has his family priorities in check. It’s one thing to not work and just train, but when you are balancing a job, family, and 100+ miles/week what he has done and is doing is very very impressive.

ahhhh when I ran my blazing speed of 11:29 at the JFK 50 last year, I think Mike had showered drove to another state and completed another race before I crossed the line–lol

He is one fast mofo Congrats Mike on a great year and continued success!!

Great interview! He “only” runs 100-115 miles a week, hehe. I guess when he runs twice as fast as me, it is not that hard to get almost twice my miles in He passed me on every lap at the 50K championship race and i got to the halfway mark as he finished! Speedster for sure And a nice guy, to boot!
