Ales Well – Beer Brewed with the Finest Glucosamine and Chondroitin

April 16, 2008 by Bryon Powell · 8 Comments

Inspired by a recent conversation among the newly formed Wasatch Speed Goat Mountain Racing Team, we here at iRunFar have developed what is sure to be the next must have recovery supplement for trail runners – Ales Well. Ales Well combines the advanced joint health-supporting compounds glucosamine and chondroitin with the timed test anesthetic power of beer.

This ground breaking dietary supplement supplies the optimal ratio of ethanol, glucosamine, and chondroitin to support runners’ joint health. In addition, to supporting joint health, Ales Well may aid in the temporary relief of minor pain and social inhibition.

Here at Ales Well world headquarters, we know you want your post trail run refreshment to come in a variety of sizes depending on your needs. That is why Ales Well will initially be available in 12, 22, and 40 oz servings. The 12 oz and 22 oz offerings will be packages of 6, 12, and 24 supplements. For you convenience, the 40 oz supplement (we here at HQ call it “The Ultra”) will be sold individually at fine establishments with a package of 12 Ultras available for consumption at home or your favorite post-run locale. We occasionally brew up special edition 100 oz supplements (“the Barkley”), which many have started one, but few have finished.

For large events, we have our bulk canisters, aka kegs, available for special order. (Race directors please inquire about our “finish line discount” on the Ales Well keg.) Come visit iRunFar headquarters for free tastings, growlers, and merchandise.

[Warning: The consumption of moderate to large amounts of Ales Well may lead the user to conceive.... to conceive excessive training, racing, or adventure plans that may lead to additional joint pain. Don't let that stop you, we'll keep brewing.]

It would seem to me that adding hydrochloric acid and trinitrotoluene would enhance the effects of Bamboozeled, and, although the additions will likely speed the onset of excessive training, racing, or adventure plans that may lead to additional joint pain, it would simultaneously aid in the temporary relief of minor pain and social inhibition do to its “explosive” ingredients.

The National Institute for Anomalistic and Chimerical Chemical Fabrications (the “NIACCF”) did, at one time, conduct extensive research on the overall value of adding both hydrochloric acid and trinitrotoluene to endurance athlete’s daily diets, but failed, egregiously, to consider the combined reaction of such compounds with the joint health-supporting formulas contained in glucosamine and chondroitin, thus failing to corner the market on such a product.

A 1979 study published in the Journal of Incendiary and Inebriatory Scientific Anomalies, conducted by the great Muleki Beer-Van-Der-Hosen, criticized the findings of NIACCF, stating that their concoction lacked a certain “buzz” to it.

It appears as if Bamboozeled has found the missing link with the addition of ethanol.

Kudos to WSGMRT for its exceptional research and contribution to the trail running community. It is good to see you pick up where NIACCF left off, and I hope to see your empirical data published in the Journal of Incendiary and Inebriatory Scientific Anomalies soon !

Of course, lest we forget nuun and tequila or nuun and vodka (which I just learned yesterday is called a nuuntini) as a great and tasty way to hydrate pre and post run/race.

Maybe I’ll mix me up a Captain and Kona Kola tonight. Meissner, rip it up tomorrow!

glad to see its odd timing since I’m working for a group that has a water based glucosamine product and I’ve been steering towards endurance/trail/ultra (was @ Greenland this weekend) and had emailed WSG not too long ago..

hope things are good in DC, if you make it out to CO drop a line..

Hey Jim, Are you Jim Skaggs on the WSGMRT? That’s who I assumed you were when I previously responded to you. If you are not Jim Skaggs, which I now think is the case, please contact me via this link http://www.irunfar.com/contact . I’d like to clear up some confusion. :-)
