You Go Girl!

March 3, 2007 by Bryon Powell · 5 Comments

Ok, now that the deed is done, I can expand upon yesterday’s post. On only a couple days notice after my planting a crazy idea in her head and no run longer than 13 miles, my superstar sister ran her first marathon today. And not only did she run her first marathon… but she did it on trails. On really icy/really muddy (depending where you were) trails. And the “marathon” was actually 28 miles!

Way to go Gretch!

Gretchen and me with less than a mile to go.

Gretchen just finished! Way to go sis. :-D

A smiling sister with her very proud brother after the race.

    Olga,
Gretchen was so awesome on Saturday. I think we’ll see more of her on the trail in the future. Come to think of it, you’ve seen her on the trail before. She was with us the day we climbed the Wasatch course south out of Brighton. I’m thinking she’ll be ready to be a pacer by the next time I’m back at Wasatch. Am I right, Gretch?

    Bry-
I definitely think I would be more prepared that last time, but I still have looming fears of being dropped as a pacer. Once was embarrassing enough!
    Thanks Olga and Robi!
